Situated at a place where the yangtze
River and the ancient canal meets in the developed area
of yangtze River Delta , surrounding yangzhou , a historicat
city of fame ,. hangjiang is the main devel-opment field
and hinterland of yangzhou . being-hangzhou Grand Canal
flows through the district from south to north .The
No.328 State Highway ,Ning-Tong Expressway and the Ning-Qi
Railway cross the district from east to west . From
the State level opening port of Yangzhou , ships may
sail abroad . The Zhenjiang-Yangzhou yangtze River Bridge
being built are within the boundary of the district
. There are Nanjing and Shanghai international airports
and ten deep water ports within a radius of the 200km
From Hanjiang . the total district covers an area of
737 square kilometers with a population of 500,000,19
towns and one StreetOffice . The local government is
set up in the new district of Yangzhou city . Since
the reform and opening to the outside world , its economic
comprehensive strength has unceasingly been enhanced
and has been ranked twice on the list of China’s top
100 counties in comprehensive strength .
Hanjiang has a long history , known “Hancheng” founded
by Emperor Fuchai of the Wu State during the period
of Spring and Autumn Fuchai dug Han Ditch more than
2400 years ago . Hanjiang offers numerous historic relice
and places of interest for tourists to go sightseeing
, such as Ganquan Han Tomb Group , the Mausoleum of
Emperor yangdi of the sui Dynasty ,the ancient ferry
dock of Guazhou , GaoMin temple , one of the four famous
monastries of the Chinese buddhism , etc . Hanjiang
has long enjoyed the good reputation  for
a land of fish and rice with great potentialities of
processing and export of farm product and sideline products

It has a well-developed industry which has formed
a certain scale and a system having rich features .
There are altogether 13 categories and 1000 kinds of
products such as machinery , chemical industry , medicine
, electronics , textile , plastics , leather , garment
, shoes , hats , arts and crafts , etc. It is also acclaimed
for its punching machines , tooth brush which are sold
well in both domestic and overseas markets .
Hanjing Country han been conferred the title of a
land of architecture by the provincial government because
it possesses not only the technical ability of undertaking
to build modern skyscrapers but also the traditional
skill of designing and building classic architecture
and international architecture . It has submitted tenders
to undertaken a batch of image engineerings successively
in more than 30big cities in China . Upon the approval
from the ministry of foreign Tra de&Economic
Cooperational , Jiangsu Hanjian Group has received the
managerment right in foreign trade and the projects
undertaken by them have won many a time titles of Ministry
Excellent Engineering , Provincial Excellent Engineering
and even won the State’s highest prize , namely , Lu

Since the reform and opening to the outside world
, Hanjiang’s export-oriented economy has develop rapidly
. After being listed as the opening areas by the State
in 1987 , the 19 towns of Hanjiang have successively
been permitted as the key industry satellite towns opening
to the outside world by the Government of Jiangsu Province
. Hanjiang has formed 10 categories and over 130 kinds
of export series products , including machinery , light
industry , chemical industry , technology , local livestock
products and the others , which are sold separately
to over 40 countries and regions such as Japan , the
U.S. , Germany , Italy , Australia , etc . The whole
district has the right of self-management in export

equity joint ventures , cooperative and solelyforign-funded
enterprises .
Located in the west of Yangzhou city , the Hanjiang
Construction District (HCD) of the Yangzhou Economic&Technical
Development Area is at a distance of 3km to the center
of Yangzhou city and it in the political , eeconomic
and cultural center being built by Hanjiang . Structure
of live vertical and six horizonalroads in the HCD has
formed with realization of smoot hed
ground , convenient transportation , communication ,
drainage , supply of tap water , gas and enough electricity
power . Located in the HCD , the Hanjing Industry Area
(HTA) being built is planned to cover an area of 8 Square
kilometers for developing high and new tech industries
including machinery , electronice , textile and fine
chemical industry which will be distributed in according
to its categories .
